You might notice a white “frosting” on the tattoo after the laser is applied, which is a positive sign that the ink is starting to break down. The sensation is often compared to the feeling of rubber bands snapping against your skin. For those who find it uncomfortable, a topical numbing agent can be applied, but this will add about 30 minutes to your session.
The entire treatment usually takes around fifteen minutes, and you can resume your normal activities immediately afterward. Some redness and swelling might occur, but this typically fades in a few days. To prevent infection, antibacterial ointment and gauze will be applied to the treated area.
